Yukultji Napangati came to Kiwirrkura in 1984. Prior to this she had been living with eight others of her immediate family in an area of country to the west of Lake Mackay and had no contact with Europeans.
Yukultji began painting for Papunya Tula Artists in 1996 depicting her various Dreaming places. In 1999 she contributed to the Kiwirrkura Women’s painting as part of the Western Desert Dialysis Appeal and in 2005 she was selected as one of nine artists to exhibit at the prestigious Primavera show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.
Yukultji’s older sister Yalti, brother Tamayinya and half brother Waala Tjapangati have all painted for Papunya Tula Artists.
