Barbara Mbitjana Moore is of the Anmatyerre language group. She grew up in Tea Tree and moved to Amata to live with her sister who is married to an Amata man.
Barbara Moore has risen to prominence in a relatively short time. She normally works at the Health Clinic paints at Tjala Arts (formerly Minymaku Arts) in her spare time. Barbara first began to paint in April 2003 and has since won the Painting category of the 29th Telstra NATSIAA Award. Her work often depicts her country in vibrant colours and distinctively bold brushstrokes.
